My Rockin' Blog

Hello world! My name is Max Galster. I am creating this blog to express my feelings and thoughts about the music I listen to. To me, music is a way of expression, and a way to escape the day to day tasks of life. In this blog, I will be doing reviews of albums, artists, or songs that i find enjoyable to listen to or if I just have something interesting to say about them.

Music has been a big part of my life for a while now. the first bands that I listened to were bands that I heard my parents listened to. I never liked the new modern rap or pop music that i heard a lot on the radio. But I found enjoyment in listening to classic rock artists like Guns and roses, and most of all, Queen. As I started to grow and explore other types of music and explore the internet and places like youtube.com I found a love for more modern rock. I loved listening to bands like Breaking Benjamin, Rise Against, and Skillet. I started to dive deeper into more of the modern rock music. I found a liking for bands like 30 seconds to mars, and avenged sevenfold. i listen to a lot of the same music today, everything from bands like sum 41 to bands like sleeping with sirens and pierce the veil. I realize that this type of music is not appealing to everyone, so this blog will not be for everyone. but if you share similar interests in music as me, I am always open for suggestions or new music for this blog.

For this blog, I will attempt to do a review on an album or a band once a week. I have some ideas on bands that I would like to start with, but I would love suggestions. I imagine that I will eventually run out of bands that I currently listen to to review, so any suggestions would be awesome. Just please keep in mind the music that would fit this blog.

  1. "Swing Life Away" is my favorite Rise Against Song.
"Patience" by GnR is tied to so many memories that even now, as I'm posting, I'm lost on Memory Lane.
And Queen...well Queen.... such a dynamic lead and catchy lyrics.

I definitely look forward to reading your thoughts.

  2. I know I would try to vary it up. Review something from today, then review something from a previous era. Previous era bands you may like include Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, The Ramones, David Bowie, The Who, and others. Spotify is a great resource if you are looking for music without having to spend an arm and a leg. Sonzga is also good if you are looking for a mixture of music for discovery.

  3. I love reading music reviews! I try to listen to new music all the time so I'm not listening to the same artist/bands over and over again. Have you heard of the Astronautalis? They are from Russia, its kind of a rap rock thing, they are pretty good, they come to OH in September.
